MAPA has various annual events that are held throughout the year and students are invited to be a part of.  Below are a few of the most important opportunities we provide:

Bi-Annual MAPA Shows

​

We produce a Bi-annual show at MAPA, held at a local theatre, for all students to participate in. Dances ranging from Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Modern, Musical Theatre and Tap are performed. This gives the children the chance to perform in a professional theatre with costumes and lighting. We are so lucky at MAPA to have excellent staff, who enjoy choreographing and plenty of ex-students who are only too willing to come and lend us their expertise too.

MAPA Youth Productions

​

MAPA Youth Productions is a youth company that produces full scale musicals locally. We have put on some excellent shows in the past few years, with many of the principals going on to train for careers professionally.  These shows give the students a chance to show off all their skills, from acting to singing and dancing. In the past few years we have presented Annie, Les Miserables, Wizard of Oz, Hello Dolly! , Thoroughly Modern Millie and West Side Story.

Festivals

​

In 2013 we introduced Festival work onto the curriculum, which was a first for MAPA, but over the years we have done so well at competitions, with many gaining Gold Medals and First Places that we have decided that they are here to stay!  These are not compulsory but for those students that are keen to take part. Both Miss Vanda and Miss Ema are members of the All England and British Arts competitions.

Disney

​

In October half term 2017 MAPA appeared at Disneyland Paris in Take Us 2 The Magic...a 20 minute show featuring students from 7-17. We performed at the Videodrome and showcased an Around the World section with Irish Tap Dances, Tango point work, an African, Hawaiian and Chinese number.  This is our second visit to Disney.
